It is up and running, I should have counted the rolls of film and the prints along the way.  I have had so much fun learning and just enjoying the process, life is good.

I just finished silk screening a poster that I wanted to share with you, it was inspired by a Langston Hughes poem.

I am done and lucky enough to show 5 posters, 5 poems (Street Poetry) at the Braddock Carnegie Library. The show will be April 17th 2014 from 6p to 8p at 419 Library Street, Braddock, PA 15104.  It is an art project, which combines poetry as well as art. I wrote the poems, created the artwork and hand printed the posters. The silk-screening of the posters was done in the Transformazium neighborhood silk-screen studio at The Braddock Carnegie Library. The posters have hung at several libraries throughout Pittsburgh and have also been shown during speaking engagements at different art galleries. This will be a poetry reading of the posters as well as a show of my photography and artwork. The Title of the event is named from one of the poems, 'rain, touch everything, hold nothing.' All are welcome light food and refreshment will be available.

This is where the magic happens

Today is a great day.  We get to start moving in to the new darkroom, I just put the final coat on the outside.  There is so much more to do though I feel like we have been through so much and come so far, one small step at a time.  I need to thank Bryan (who is not on FB) and Ruthie (who is also not on FB) as they are the two people who really helped me out by teaching me about flow and construction, the thing they taught me most, "practice is the only education (I will be writing this on the wall, so I can see it every time I am working!)."  I know this sounds like I am getting a grammy award, though I would like also thank Alicia Murray, Dan L Murray, John Rudy and Shannon Michael Good as you are truly inspirations, everything you have been through you still lean forward and live life, life looks so good on you, I love you!  Several years ago I got to see a friend speak, Tony Buba, and one of the audience members asked him, what would be one piece of advice you could give a young filmmaker?  I will always remember what he said, "finish what you start (I will be writing this on the wall too, so I can see it every time I am working!)."  Thank you Tony, thank you family and friends, even though this sounds cheesy, I have been waiting so many years (3 years of dreaming and gathering stuff, a couple of years of planning and a year and a half of construction) to get to this point, I am so grateful and so happy. 

Lisa's recent life decision

About a year ago, I announced that I was diagnosed with MS.  Within six months of that diagnosis was wrong.  My new diagnosis is Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).  It is a neurological muscular autoimmune disorder.  Basically my body has a mind of its own.  I can not move without the assistance of medication and a walker.  SPS is a rare condition.  Doctors gave me very little information about the disease.  Little is known but they do know there is no cure and it is a progressive disease.  My life span is questionable.  They say I will live a normal life span but their is a question mark in my mind.  The reason for the question is because of how much they (doctors) really know about the condition.  I have decided to try and redefine my life and talk to you about my new life adventure.
